Less than a week remains until the release of Diablo 4’s Season of Blood. The next topic on the agenda was balance after nearly two hours were spent last week dissecting the new content coming with Season 2 and going even deeper into all of the quality of life updates arriving with the season patch. more specifically, damage buckets, Uniques, and class rebalance, as well as resistances. A second livestream was held by Blizzard to discuss the specifics of how much Season 2 will alter the underlying game systems.

Even though this week’s livestream was a little shorter than last week’s, the information was still crucial, especially for players who enjoy designing builds and are particularly interested in the interactions between various classes and the endgame.
Blizzard wanted to make significant systemic changes to many aspects of what controls combat balance, as was stated on the show. All of this begins with elemental resistances, which are currently computed additively and capped at 70%.
With the aid of effects like skills, Paragon Boards, elixirs, and other items, the cap can be raised to 85%. On the other hand, armor no longer has any elemental resistance stats and now only defends against physical damage. The intention is to make resistances a significant component of builds, providing players with adequate tools to increase their resistances.
Around level 80, according to Blizzard, you should be able to increase your elemental resistances to 70% (the base maximum).
The potency and power of Uniques have been a significant source of debate. Nearly all of them are updated for Season of Blood, and the key to making them exciting is allowing them to have special stats that are unavailable elsewhere.
Every unique will now have wider stat ranges, completely new stats, and effects that are simpler aside from the new unique stats. Additionally, weapons now have the option of rolling the stat of cooldown reduction.
Naturally, discussing Uniques would be incomplete without addressing their acquisition. With Season of Blood, Blizzard now formally allows players to farm Uniques as a target. Every endgame boss that has been added or updated now has a greater chance of dropping specific Uniques. However, your chances of getting a Unique are lower than they would be if you were farming in the endgame.
Additionally, the patch will address class balance in an intriguing manner. The aim is to create a more balanced environment where various builds can be effective. All classes are having some of their overly effective builds nerfed.
Scaling effects are being added by Blizzard to many mechanics across all classes. For instance, the Rogue’s Victimize explosion damage increases as the player raises their vulnerable damage bonus, and the Barbarian’s Blood Rage now increases all damage while Berserking.

On October 17, Season of Blood receives patch 1.2.0.
