We’ve been hearing rumors and hearsay about Fortnite Chapter 4’s ending for months, but Season 5 is almost here. Because the upcoming Fortnite season, which starts on November 3, will put us on a new version of the Battle Royale map from Chapter 1 Season 5, it’s possible that it won’t be the Season 5 you were hoping for.
This upcoming season, which is anticipated to last just one month before Chapter 5 starts in December, has been the subject of numerous rumors. But in recent weeks, the picture has started to become clearer. And a content creator named Salvatretzzo posted about a package he received from Epic, which came the closest to confirming these plans.

As you can see, the package contains a number of pins themed after Chapter 1 Seasons 5 through 10 (X), as well as a brand-new one that simply says Fortnite OG, a dog tag with the same Fortnite OG logo, a vinyl single that plays the old lobby theme and has the Season 5 map etched into the underside, and a screen that plays an old video of the recipient playing Fortnite back in the original Season 5.
Given that it has been several days and no one else has posted theirs, it is most likely Salvatretzzo revealed his box before he was supposed to. But since Epic would have distributed a lot of these, it’s only a matter of time.
There has been some discussion among the various Fortnite leakers about the specifics of what is coming, even though the broad strokes appear to be pretty well established. Despite the fact that everything appears to be in order now: The Chapter 1 Season 5 map will be presented to you as it was, with the addition of movement infrastructure for Zero Build players, such as ziplines, being the only notable changes. Additionally, there ought to be an old-school loot pool because the old-fashioned weapons will replace all these cool new weapons.
While Zero Build will continue to exist, Season 5 may get rid of all the more recent movement mechanics added in Chapter 3, such as sprinting, mantling, and sliding, which could be quite a pain.
The map won’t be present in Season 5, though. Since there are six seasons to cover in just four weeks, it is anticipated that the map will undergo significant change over the course of this month-long season, updating frequently to reflect significant changes that occurred over the course of Chapter 1.
While I’ve recently lamented the story’s lack of flow in Fortnite, the season’s quests have been leading up to this by introducing Kado Thorne’s time machine at the beginning of the season and having us steal it and move it to Frenzy Farm. At this moment, the time machine is focused on July 12, 2018, which is the first day of Chapter 1 Season 5, and it is spouting Chapter 1 objects. There is every reason to believe that we are returning.
There is a lot we don’t know about the upcoming season, despite our reasonable confidence in our basic knowledge. Both a Doctor Who and a Lego collaboration have been linked to this short season, according to earlier this year’s rumors. Doctor Who would make perfect sense for a time travel plot, and Lego would make sense with a constantly shifting map. However, those rumors have completely died down, and there has been no recent information regarding any collaborations for Season 5. For what it’s worth, Epic has been open about their plans to collaborate with Lego. It might not occur during the upcoming, unusually structured season.
Will there be a battle pass for this baby-sized season? Will it be stocked with Chapter 1 remixed skins? We are unsure of the answers to these queries. We won’t have to wait long to find out, though, as Season 5 premiere is now less than two weeks away.
