Capcom has released further information on Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, revealing among other things that the game will launch on September 18, 2024, following last week’s surprising tease.
With the words, “it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call this game a remake,” developer Rysosuke Murai said that the game will be released in 4K 60 frames per second using the RE Engine, with enhanced NPC behavior and quality-of-life features like the ability to move while aiming.
Capcom has updated autosave capabilities and “fine-tuned the interface”; the plot will have nine different languages fully narrated.
Capcom intends to issue a digital deluxe edition with more costumes and background music from malls in addition to the normal edition. The planned physical release date is November 2024.
Dead Rising is back!
Even though no new Dead Rising games have been released in years, a revival of the series appeared likely. Capcom asked players in an early-February “Super Elections” survey on its website if they would prefer a follow-up or spin-off to its idle properties, which include Dead Rising, Okami, and Dino Crisis.
When Dead Rising was first published in 2006, it immediately rose to the top of the list of highly sought-after Xbox 360 exclusive titles. In the late 2000s and early 2010s, the franchise introduced Capcom to a new franchise that included three sequels.
Dead Rising 4, which debuted in 2016 for Xbox One and PC and a year later on PS4 as Frank’s Big Package, was the most current game in the series prior to the announcement of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Dead Rising 4 reportedly underperformed in terms of sales and received conflicting reviews.
A new Dead Rising game was canceled as a result of Dead Rising 4’s low sales performance. Capcom Vancouver, previously Blue Castle Games, which created Dead Rising games beginning in 2010 with the Dead Rising 2 prequel Case Zero, was also shut down.
