After five years of trying to make the podium, past world champions AP Bren finally took back the top spot by winning MPL Philippines Season 12.
The winners of the second Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship (M2), AP Bren, easily won the title after defeating Blacklist International, the M3 world champions, 4-1.
Past world champions squared off in this MPL PH season as the top three Filipino teams battled for a spot in the championship match.
Blacklist International was paired with the reigning world champion, ECHO, in the lower bracket after falling to AP Bren in the upper bracket final.
Blacklist International won the best-of-five match 3-1 to advance to the championship game. However, AP Bren ultimately won the match again.
This is the organization’s second league title, having won their inaugural one in Season 6.
The real match hero was David Charles “FlapTzy” Canon, who played a crucial role in AP Bren’s triumph. His exceptional performance in the EXP lane not only helped him win the championship but also earned him the honor of being named Most Valuable Player.
In addition to guaranteeing their spot in the M5 World Championship, AAP Bren gave them the lion’s share of the US$150,000 prize money.
The Philippines will be represented in the upcoming M5 World Championship in Manila this December by Blacklist International and AP Bren.
As the Killer Bees prepare for the international arena, supporters can’t help but wonder if they can continue their winning streak and bring home another world championship for the Philippines.
